The vibe for this track really comes from 2Pac's "Changes", specifically the 98 version, with lush uplifting sound.
Tapes II initially was going to be a Tupac and Nujabes tribute album, because I felt like I was channeling their sound through my work, when I selected samples, or when I was playing.
However, it's hard to put a geniuses name on your work without feeling like you cannot do them justice.

This track samples the brilliant Ivan Lins track "Cartomante" for the main riff, with a drum sample from the classic Soul Searchers track named "Ashley's Roachclip", while Jesse Jackson spits truth on the hook.
